Getting The Most Out of Your Next Massage!

Updated: Feb 10, 2023

We strive to give you the most restorative and restful experience we can - you can support this with a few simple actions as you prepare for your appointment.

Flow & Intention

I enjoy assessing clients' needs and designing a bodywork session that will best address the client's current condition and desired outcomes. You can trust in the knowledge that whatever you share with me with regard to your current mental, physical, and emotional health in session will be confidential.

The better you can express what you would like to experience in the massage beforehand, describing any pains, emotions, allergies, discomforts, or injuries, the better we can address these needs in the massage session. It helps set a stronger intention for the work we do with you and will determine the pace and flow of our approach.

How does this benefit you?

You'll receive a seamless, calming, and attentive massage experience!

Tips:

Arrive at your session, feeling fresh (possibly freshly showered), hydrated (as this will help your muscles let go of some of their tension related to dehydration), and wearing comfy clothes. At the end of your massage session, you will want to float home feeling comfortable and cozy. Soft unrestrictive clothing will feel best. Communicate your health concerns, objectives, and hopes for the massage, and always let me know if there is a way I can make you more comfortable.

Here’s how to get the most out of your massage session:

  1. Take some time before your massage to breathe deep, and clear your mind.

  2. Aim to be early for your massage so you have time to have some water and use the washroom, without feeling rushed and without cutting into your massage time.

  3. Give yourself time after the massage to relax, eat something nutritious, drink some water, and feel your new state of being.

  4. Abstain from heavy lifting, excessive activity, or drinking alcohol after your massage.

  5. Give yourself 48 hours to adjust to and process the changes and emotions emerging in your mind and body.
